Rav Yitzchak Berkovits will speak from Yerushalayim via Skype @ 9:15 PM (EDT) on the topic of "Educating Our Children About Emunah and Having a Relationship With Hashem". The shiur will be given in memory of Chaim Yissachar a"h ben Yechiel Zeidel Dov.


This is a great opportunity for alumni, friends and supporters of Rav Berkovits and the Jerusalem Kollel, as well as others in Passaic and neighboring towns who are not yet familiar with Rav Berkovits or the Jerusalem Kollel, to hear Rav Berkovits address us live on this ever important subject, one that is close to all of our hearts. Please join us and encourage your neighbors and friends to join us for this event.

Learning for sheloshim

Believe it or not, the sheloshim for Chaim Yissachar A"H will take place in less than one week. We wanted to just thank all of those individuals who took time to learn mishnayos for Chaim and gently remind you to please finish your mishnayos by June 5th / 15th of Sivan. A special sheloshim shiur is being planned in Teaneck and the details of that shiur will follow.

Tomorrow night there will be a shiur given by R' Moshe Tzvi Weinberg, Chaim's brother in law. This is the final shiur of the year in his weekly parsha series. It will be Thursday night, 9:15 pm at Bnai Yeshurun in Teaneck in the Old Main Shul

The topic this week will be:
"Living with Hashem: What Chaim Yissachar A"H Taught Us All"

While it has not yet been 30 days since his petirah, Shavuos brings about an end to the halachic aspects of his shloshim and therefore Moshe Tzvi wanted to offer some words in preparation for that occasion.

So many people were touched by Chaim's supreme spiritual strength in his final months and it is felt that we have an obligation to try to internalize his message while it is still so fresh in our minds.

There will be a call in number for those who cannot attend ( note that it is different than the Tuesday shiur number) - 218-862-6420 ext 589-9572

  B"H the new shipment of Emunah magnets have arrived. As of now they will be placed in the box outside of 19 Sunrise Terrace in Bergenfield. Over the next few weeks they will be placed in different locations throughout the Teaneck community. We also hope to broaden the Emunah campaign and send magnets to various communities around the world. We will keep you posted  when magnets arrive at those locations.

Amen event this Sunday

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we ask you to join us for our fourth Amen Event this Sunday May 20th at 10:00 a.m.

at Ohr Hatorah (36 Rector Ct, Bergenfield NJ). Led by Rebbetzin Chana Reichman, we will gather to say birchas hashachar together for the aliyas neshama of Chaim Yissachar ben Yechiel Zeidel Dov a"h and a refuah for all of cholei yisroel.

It has been said many times throughout shiva that Chaim would have wanted us to continue all of our davening and learning that we had started for him, so we hope that we are able to continue to have many women join us at this beautiful event .

Baruch Dayan Emes...

Dear Friends,

It is with infinite sadness and emotion beyond words that we regret to inform you that our dear friend Chaim Yissachar passed away on Shabbos morning. After battling and enduring so much for the past year and a half, Chaim left us peacefully in his hospital bed with emunah on his lips until the very end.

 

The funeral will take place Sunday at 2pm at the Gutterman Funeral Home - 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601. The kevurah will IY"H take place in Eretz Yisrael and family will return to Teaneck on Tuesday morning where they will sit shiva (details to follow).

 

May we find strength and comfort in all that he has so beautifully taught us...
